How we found
each other
Mark and Matt met after college, when both moved to San Francisco and were introduced by friends at a New Year's Eve party. What began as a casual friendship grew over eight years as they shared a close-knit group of friends, countless home-cooked dinners, favorite weekly shows, and travels from Italy to Spain and beyond.
Their relationship took a meaningful turn when Matt underwent surgery at Stanford while Mark was a medical student there. During Matt's recovery, the two finally talked about becoming something more. With years of friendship as their foundation (and a little push from the COVID lockdown), they soon moved in together.
Over the years that followed, they adopted Peanut (an always-hungry corgi), moved to New York City for Mark's oncology fellowship, and got engaged in Japan beneath the cherry blossoms—grateful that their love story grew from an enduring friendship.
